Where To Live
NAS Corpus Christi is a primary naval aviation training base on the Texas Gulf Coast. Corpus Christi is South Texas's largest city, with a vibrant bayside downtown, Padre Island National Seashore, and a strong fishing and water sports culture. The cost of living is low, BAH goes a long way, and the warm climate (with occasional hurricane seasons) defines life here.
Corpus Christi (Southside)
Suburban
The southside residential corridors of Corpus Christi — Flour Bluff, Calallen, and the areas south of SPID — are most convenient to NAS Corpus Christi's main gate. Corpus Christi ISD and Flour Bluff ISD serve different zones; Flour Bluff ISD on the barrier island is particularly associated with military families. Flour Bluff is a tight-knit coastal community right outside the back gate with a strong TACO TUESDAY culture. Very affordable housing.
