In-Processing
U.S. Army Garrison Miami supports U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) at 9301 NW 33rd Street in Doral, Florida — a suburban office-park environment west of Miami, not downtown. This is a joint posting: Army, Air Force, Marines, and Navy personnel all in-process through the same garrison but via separate branch contacts. Call the right one when you arrive: Army (305) 437-1127, Air Force (305) 437-1113, Marines (305) 437-1997, Navy (305) 437-1103. The main garrison line is (305) 437-1000; for pre-arrival emergencies, the SOUTHCOM duty officer is at (305) 437-4900.
One thing to resolve before you arrive: SOUTHCOM is a lean joint headquarters, and some support functions are handled remotely. Your personnel records, finance support, or legal office may not be in Doral at all — Tampa, Patrick Space Force Base, and Jacksonville have all served as remote servicing locations depending on branch and function. Find out where your pay and records will be managed before your move, not after.
Miami is expensive, and there is no on-base housing at this small garrison. You will be living in the local community on BAH. Doral and Kendall are the most common neighborhoods for SOUTHCOM personnel. Budget carefully — South Florida’s housing market is among the most expensive in the Southeast, and the cost of living here is genuinely high.
