Where To Live
Fort Eisenhower — still widely known as Fort Gordon — sits on the western edge of Augusta, Georgia, near the South Carolina state line. Augusta is a mid-sized city with a strong military and medical community anchored by the Augusta University Health System. The nearby Columbia County, Georgia, communities offer some of the best suburban living in the state.
Evans
Suburban
Evans in Columbia County is the most popular destination for Fort Eisenhower families and one of the most consistently desirable military communities in the Southeast. Columbia County schools are excellent — among the best in Georgia — and the neighborhoods are newer, safer, and more aesthetically polished than most Augusta alternatives. Officers and senior NCOs overwhelmingly choose Evans.
