Robins Air Force Base near Warner Robins, Georgia, was established in 1942 and is home to the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex, one of the Air Force's three major depot maintenance facilities. The base performs heavy maintenance and overhaul on the C-5 Galaxy, C-130 Hercules, F-15 Eagle, and various other aircraft and systems. Robins also hosts the Air Force Reserve Command headquarters and the 461st Air Control Wing. It is the largest single-site industrial complex in Georgia, employing over 25,000 people, and is essential to sustaining Air Force combat readiness.

The installation was established in 1941 as a logistics and maintenance depot in central Georgia, named for Brigadier General Augustine Warner Robins, a pioneer of Army Air Corps logistics who died in 1940. The surrounding city of Warner Robins was founded specifically to support the base.

Designated Warner Robins Air Materiel Area
Robins was designated a major Air Materiel Area in 1948, establishing its identity as one of the Air Force's primary depot maintenance and supply centers. The Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex remains one of the largest industrial complexes in the southeastern United States.

E-8 JSTARS Program Begins Development
Robins AFB became the home of the Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (JSTARS) program, a ground surveillance aircraft that provided commanders with real-time battlefield intelligence. The E-8C JSTARS, maintained at Robins, proved decisive in Gulf War operations.

78th Force Support Squadron — Airman and Family Readiness Center (A&FRC)
In-Processing
Personnel arriving at Robins AFB report to their unit's Commander Support Staff during duty hours with their PCS package. The CSS schedules all mandatory in-processing appointments, including at the Military Personnel Section and the mandatory Newcomer's Orientation. After-hours arrivals report to the Pine Oaks Inn on-base lodging, the 24/7 arrival point.
The mandatory Newcomer's Orientation covers Robins AFB's logistics complex mission, base services, and Middle Georgia community resources. The 78th ABW hosts the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex (WR-ALC), one of the Air Force's largest maintenance, repair, and overhaul centers.
