About Fort Huachuca

Fort Huachuca is in Cochise County, Arizona, just 15 miles north of the Mexican border. The post was founded in 1877 during the Apache Wars and was the host location of the Buffalo Soldiers from 1913-1933. Today, close to 20,000 people live at work at Fort Huachuca.
