Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) is provided as a monthly stipend for service members who live off base in the community. There are a lot of options for off-base living at Kirtland since the base is inside the city of Albuquerque. The major metro and the suburbs around it can easily provide a great home for you. BAH is designed to help you pay for it. Kirtland AFB Barracks
Unaccompanied housing is available for airmen ranks E1-E4. There are over 800 rooms available for those who qualify for a spot here. The rooms are dorm style with a shared bathroom. You’ll have access to a lot of resources that are provided for you by housing staff and management to make your stay at Kirtland as comfortable as it can be. There are also airman dormitory leaders who are available to address any concerns you may have. Make sure that you know whether or not you’ll qualify for the barracks before you get to Kirtland.
Kirtland AFB Housing Office
The housing office should be your first call after you find out that you’re moving. The knowledgeable staff here can walk you through the homes you qualify for, help you with logistics like moving, and answer any questions when it comes to pets or whatever else your particular circumstances require.
